IWU School of Education Receives National Recognition for Excellence in Teacher Preparation

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Oct. 2, 2025) – Indiana Wesleyan University’s (IWU) School of Integrated Learning and Development (SILD) received the 2025 Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement, from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), one of the highest honors in educator preparation.

“This recognition underscores our faculty’s devotion to equipping future educators with the knowledge, integrity, and innovative practices needed to excel in classrooms nationwide,” said Dean of SILD Amie Anderson. “It is both an honor and a responsibility to be counted among institutions that set the standard for quality in teacher preparation.”

The Frank Murray Leadership Recognition celebrates educator preparation providers that have earned CAEP accreditation without stipulations or areas for improvement, affirming their commitment to equity, excellence, and continuous improvement. IWU’s recognition demonstrates the university’s dedication to preparing teachers and leaders who are not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to serving students and communities.

“These providers are committed to preparing their candidates to make a positive difference in the lives of all K-12 students as soon as they enter the classroom,” said Chair of the CAEP Board of Directors Yuhang Rong. “The Murray Leadership Recognition highlights their dedication to continuous improvement, accountability, and quality through purposeful use of evidence.”

The recognition was formally announced during the Opening Session of Fall 2025 CAEPCon in Arlington, Virginia, on Sept 18. Dr. Chad LeDue attended the ceremony to accept the award on behalf of IWU.
