Indiana Wesleyan University’s Masters in Mathematics Education online program is designed for practicing secondary school teachers who wish to become qualified to instruct advanced placement, dual enrollment, or early college courses, as well as deepen their understanding of mathematics and advanced educational classroom practice. Upon graduating from our MS in Mathematics degree program, you’ll have deeper knowledge, critical thinking, modeling, and quantitative skills in fundamental domains of mathematics within a biblical worldview.
Courses are designed to equip students with methods and materials they need to deepen their mathematics teaching ability and help their own students learn. This math education masters program builds in ideas for culturally responsive teaching, ethics and faith, differentiated math instruction, and research and technology tools.
Note: Candidates must already be credentialed for teaching mathematics in P-12 schools and/or community colleges, as this degree will not lead to initial or advanced state licensure in those areas.

In the Masters in Math Education online program, you’ll learn to evaluate and interpret breadth of mathematical knowledge effectively and accurately. You will be able to apply data literacy to develop or sustain supportive school environments and synthesize critical thinking and quantitative skills with biblical knowledge to analyze problems that can be modeled mathematically. Upon completion of the math education masters, you’ll be able to use research with an understanding of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research methodologies with an ethical, biblical worldview that encompass professional dispositions, laws and policies, codes of ethics and professional standards appropriate to classroom teaching.
