Dr. Lindsey Vigesaa serves as Program Director and Professor of Criminal Justice at Indiana Wesleyan University’s School of Integrated Health, College of Adult and Professional Studies. She oversees the Certificate, Associate of Science, and Bachelor’s degree programs in Criminal Justice. With over 15 years of experience in the public and private education sectors, Dr. Vigesaa holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Criminal Justice from North Dakota State University and a B.A. in Sociology from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She also holds certificates in AI and data science from MIT and the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Vigesaa specializes in interdisciplinary curriculum development, student-centered teaching, and the ethical application of emerging technologies. She is recognized for her leadership in curriculum design, faculty mentorship, and advancing the integration of Artificial Intelligence into cybersecurity and public safety education.

She has taught and mentored students at both undergraduate and graduate levels in fully online and traditional classroom settings. Dr. Vigesaa is adept at building partnerships with public safety agencies to support internships, capstone projects, and applied research.

Her research and consulting work covers topics such as reentry programming for female offenders, law enforcement response to victims, and the use of AI and data analytics in public safety. Dr. Vigesaa has served as a lead researcher and evaluator on nationally funded projects and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and books. She has also secured grants to promote student success and innovative applications of technology in criminal justice.

An active member of the academic and professional community, Dr. Vigesaa serves on advisory boards, reviews for leading journals, and regularly presents at conferences. She is dedicated to mentoring students for impactful careers in the evolving landscape of justice and technology and to promoting the highest standards of integrity and ethical practice among public safety professionals.

Her work is grounded in collaborative leadership, educational innovation, and the integration of Christian faith and values in all aspects of her professional life.
