Ashton Burton-Becraft

Ashton Burton-Becraft is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who brings a dynamic blend of clinical expertise, administrative leadership, and creative instruction to her role at Indiana Wesleyan University. She joined IWU’s Social Work Department on the Marion campus in 2023 as an adjunct instructor and now serves as full-time faculty and Acting Field Director for both the Bachelor and Master of Social Work programs. Ashton is passionate about mentoring students and shaping field education through a strengths-based, trauma-informed lens.

Before joining IWU, Ashton practiced in a wide range of settings including psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, home-based services, community mental health agencies, and private practice. She continues to own and operate a hybrid private practice, where she specializes in trauma and attachment work. Ashton earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Social Work and Spanish from the University of Southern Indiana in 2019 and completed her Master of Social Work through the university’s Advanced Standing program in 2020. She is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society and originally hails from Peru, Indiana.
