Make Your Impact in the Parent Council

Founded in 2024, the IWU Parent Council is comprised of parents and grandparents of both current and former students, working with SGA to raise money for projects, assist communication, volunteer for events, and turn ideas into reality.

The establishment of the IWU Parent Council reflects the university’s ongoing commitment to a close-knit and long-lasting community wherein even the grandparents of alumni can play a role in influencing the future of the university.

"We’re excited to introduce 'Save A Seat - The Student Gathering Project,' an IWU Parent Council initiative to create an outdoor seating area on campus. This space will encourage your students to step out of their dorms, connect with peers, and foster a stronger sense of community. We are building more than just seating—you’re investing in friendships, memories, and a vibrant university experience for all our students."

Amber Hines
Parent Council Member

"Phase 1 of our first IWU Parent Council Project is to create a fire pit seating area for small group gatherings. We know students want more outdoor space to use as nicer weather returns to campus. Our top goal as the inaugural Parent Council is to find funding and build areas for fellowship to happen.”
