Faculty Profile
BIOGRAPHY
Kent has been a full-time faculty member in the Division of Business since the fall of 1995. His main areas of teaching responsibilities include accounting, entrepreneurship, organizational innovation, and business ethics. Kent was instrumental in developing and launching the Entrepreneurship major at Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall of 2005. Prior to his tenure at IWU, he held several corporate accounting and tax positions.
INTERESTS
Kent is the former Chair of the Indiana CPA Society's Board of Directors. He previously served as the Chair of the Indiana CPA Society's Professional Ethics Committee. He is a former member of the AICPA’s Council. He has taught Biblical Ethics and Christian Apologetics in Ukraine. His interests also include organizational innovation and incorporating biblical principles into the professional life. Kent most enjoys spending time with his wife and family. His favorite Bible passage is Job 19:25-27.
AWARDS
Kent Williams, CPA, CGMA, was presented with the 2018 CPA Center of Excellence® Award. The CPA Center of Excellence® award was established in 2017 to recognize an individual or firm embodying excellence through collaboration, development of business employability skills and a competency-based approach to lifelong learning.
In 2017 Kent was awarded the Indiana CPA Society’s top honor, the Distinguished Service Award 2017 and in 2016 he was recognized by the Indiana CPA Society and received the Indiana Outstanding Accounting Educator of the Year Award.
Kent views his teaching as a calling. A calling to prepare young people for a time he may never see and to help them to prepare to do things he may never get to do while they serve and represent their Savior Jesus Christ to a world that needs Him.
