Career Coaching

Career coaching at IWU goes beyond job preparation—it’s about empowering students to live out their calling through meaningful work. Students meet regularly with professional coaches who help them identify their strengths, explore career interests, and set actionable goals. Through one-on-one sessions, students learn practical tools such as résumé building, interview techniques, and networking strategies. Coaching is designed to foster confidence, purpose, and professional readiness.

Workshops

Career readiness at IWU is often built directly into the classroom. In partnership with faculty across divisions, the Career Development team delivers customized workshops that connect directly to students’ fields of study. From résumé writing for nursing majors to interview preparation for teacher education, workshops are tailored to equip students with immediately applicable, hands-on experience. Each session combines expert guidance with practical skill-building to ensure students graduate career-ready.

Employers & Job Opportunities

IWU partners with employers across industries who value graduates prepared with both skill and character. Students can connect with these organizations on campus through career fairs, networking events, employer spotlights, and daily recruiting in The Cove. Last year, 188 unique employers recruited IWU students, representing sectors from healthcare and education to global ministry and business.

Opportunities are regularly posted on Handshake, IWU’s online platform where students can explore internships, part-time roles, and full-time jobs.

Employers who regularly recruit IWU students include:

  • Marion Health
  • Riley Children’s Hospital
  • World Gospel Mission
  • Marion Community Schools
  • Katz, Sapper & Miller
