South Hall opened in 2010 and was originally designed to house freshmen men on the East side and upper-division men on the West side. In Fall 2017, South Hall transitioned to an integrated model and now houses 300+ men, freshmen through seniors, throughout the building, mirroring our other traditional halls.
South Hall students benefit from the informal mentoring and peer support that can happen when students at every stage in their college experience share life and learning together.
The men of South Hall enjoy an expansive lobby area that is always hopping with activity, from competitive ping-pong matches to hall-wide programming and events.
South Hall is home to more than 300 men from freshman through senior year, creating a vibrant residential community where students build meaningful relationships across class years. Originally designed to separate freshmen and upper-division students by wing, South transitioned in Fall 2017 to an integrated housing model where students at every stage of college life live and grow together.
Residents enjoy suite-style living with shared living spaces and full on-suite bathrooms, encouraging informal mentoring, peer support, and everyday community.
South Hall residents enjoy suite-style living with two- and three-person rooms connected by shared living spaces and full on-suite bathrooms. Designed to foster connection and community, each suite provides students with a comfortable place to study, relax, and build meaningful relationships while enjoying the convenience of a more private residential environment.
Located in the North Hall complex, South Hall sits alongside Beckett Hall, creating a connected residential community at the heart of campus life. Its central lawn and convenient access to academic buildings, dining locations, and student gathering spaces make it easy for residents to stay engaged, build relationships, and participate fully in the IWU experience.
Vision for South Hall:
“My hope for South Hall is that all residents would find belonging and community to strengthen their relationship with the Lord. This community comprises first-year students through seniors who live life together to discover who God has called them to be and how to live life passionately for Christ.”
